“The Big Skinny” has been the top-rated movie of 2018, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The film, which opened at No. 2 with $26.3 million in its third frame, earned an average of 2.8 million admissions over the weekend.
The last film to top the chart was “The Hateful Eight,” which came in at No, 3, in 2017.
The latter grossed $70.1 million domestically and $108.3 in foreign markets.
The film’s release comes just over a month after “The Revenant,” which is expected to top this year’s chart.
The $40 million film scored a healthy $60.3m domestic total on its way to a domestic total of $3.9 billion.
“Revenant” is currently the No. 1 film of 2018.
